With the arrival of my first grandchild I set out to find a swaddle. With my three children I was a keen swaddler and wanted to pass the benefits on to my children. After 9 years, 7 grandchildren and numerous babies in my care as a Newborn care specialist Swoop baby appeared on my insta and with great delight ticks all the boxes for the perfect swaddle. The size, stretch, soft organic cotton and design have kept my babies I care for tight, comfortable and soothed throughout the night. I have been fortunate enough to have been using Swoop swaddles for the last few months.
I visit many homes of newborns and swoop has not only changed my life but also the lives of many families and newborns. The softest, sweetest swaddles I have ever come across! I struggled to keep my bub swaddled a full night using regular cotton swaddles, he always managed to wriggle his arms out. These windows happen when a baby’s circadian rhythm and homeostatic sleep drive are in balance. Syncing your baby’s sleep time with these windows helps them settle more easily and sleep longer. Why? Because melatonin, the sleep hormone is high (in the evening), cortisol, the stress hormone is low, and body temperature is just right.
For babies (3-15 months), there are 3 key sleep windows:
9-10 am
12-2 pm
6-7 pm
For toddlers (15-36 months), there are 2:
12-2 pm
6-7 pm (ish)
When it comes to bedtime, we recommend aiming for 6-7 pm for most kids under 5 years old to make the most of their biological sleep windows. 💫

Daycare nap timings can often throw a spanner in the works and disrupt sleep at home too! If your toddler is on one nap a day and waking early, check the timing of the nap and ask daycare to adjust it. Ideally, aim for a 12:30pm nap for 1.5-2 hours to avoid overtiredness and ensure better balance throughout the day.
A well-timed nap will help prevent your toddler from going to bed overtired, which in turn can help with those early morning wake-ups. Timing is everything!

It’s been a crazy, unpredictable ride so far, with all the ups and downs that come with running a business. But lots to be grateful for, so I wanted to hit pause and share a few highlights as I reset and reflect on the past month:

4. Wolfie’s 4th birthday—couldn’t be more proud of him! 🥰
5. An unexpected reno due to an unfortunate tenant experience —way more stress than expected, but so many lessons learned 🔨
6. Teddy’s 2nd birthday, cheekier than ever and always making us laugh ❤️
7. Wolfie’s first day of preschool, couldn’t wait to get there!

After a couple of nights of in-home sleep conditioning, Otis quickly began to self-settle and resettle independently, happily sleeping through the night in his own bedroom! 🌙✨ His nighttime sleep came together beautifully, but like many babies, his naps took a little longer to adjust.
After two weeks of progress, we made the decision to drop his morning nap—and it was a game changer! By week three, Otis was happily self-settling for his lunchtime nap, too. 💤
This journey is a great example of consistency, patience, and the understanding that every baby has their own rhythm. Not every baby adjusts at the same pace, and that’s okay. The key is adapting the plan to work for them, and in Otis’ case, a little extra time made all the difference.
